Prospectus
Summary
Uganda alone is home to more than 1.5 million refugees, and Seed Effect is committed to bringing Christ-centered economic empowerment to these hard places.
Between 2025-2027, Seed Effect plans to spend $5,969,392 to make their savings groups and income training available for 675,104 people in 9 communities across Northern Uganda and South Sudan. Savings groups meet weekly to pool their savings and make loans to each other for investing in businesses, education, health and assets. At the end of each annual cycle, the savings and interest earned is distributed to each member.
On average, members experience a 29% annual return on their savings and a 103% increase in the livestock they own. 37% of members who were not Christian before the program place their faith in Jesus and 99% of members report that their relationships with God, self and others have improved.
$90 helps one family join a savings group and income training program. They expect to reach 180,000 members with theirs savings groups, reaching 40% saturation in the refugee population in Northern Uganda by 2027. They expect this to help about 231,203 people to rise above the multidimensional poverty deprivation level across 5 poverty level indicators in just three years.
