Access to education and healthcare in Uganda

Prospectus
Summary
65% of rural Ugandans, 24M people, live in extreme multidimensional poverty, with little to no access to affordable and adequate schools and hospitals. (MPI) Meanwhile, most community development interventions in Uganda today are not locally designed or sustainable, promoting the dependence of vital services and economic activity on western aid.
Between 2025-2032, Musana plans to spend $36M to replicate their high-quality, affordable and locally sustained primary schools, secondary schools and hospitals in 7 more districts across Uganda, including the construction and operation of 14 schools and 7 hospitals. Once built, they expect these social enterprises to be financially self-sustaining after three years.
Every $49 helps one person afford access to quality schools and hospitals. They expect 49,000 students will gain access to affordable, high quality education, 175,000 patients will gain access to affordable, high-quality hospital services, and 2,700 quality-income jobs will be created. As a result of these programs, they expect about 50,000 people will come out of extreme poverty annually.
